Up Coming Church Events
Holy Week Opportunities
I wanted to remind everyone of the opportunities for worship during Holy Week. There are several different opportunities at in partnership with various churches around the area. The list is below and I hope to see you at these meaningful services as we experience the death and resurrection of Jesus.
· April 5th, Maundy Thursday, we will gather with Emmanuel Episcopal Church for a potluck dinner at 6:00 pm to be followed at 7:00 pm with a foot washing worship experience. This will remind us of Jesus’ actions in the upper room that night of His arrest.
· April 6th, Friday evening, we will gather here at Hampton Christian for our Tenebrae Service as we remember and walk through the last day of Jesus.
· April 7th, Saturday evening there will be a Choral Cantata at Parkview Baptist church at 6:00 pm.
· Easter morning there will be a Sunrise Service at St. Marks United Methodist Church at 7:00 am, followed by a breakfast. We will gather for one service of celebrating the resurrection at 10:45 am.
Confessing the BEATITUDES
This year, the Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF) will be studying the ecumenical bible study, Confessing the Beatitudes.
Our study focuses on scriptures from Matthew 5:1-12 and Luke 6:20-26 and of course includes many complementary scriptures. As we discuss a beatitude per month, we will also practice confessing our truths as we make each Beatitude a part of our faith journey of discipleship – moving from confessing to action. Each month’s topic will be posted on the hallway CWF board and down below. Alice Little will be study leader and Susan Morris our worship leader. ALL are welcomed beginning on April 17th – 10 AM @ the church. Lesson Five – Blessed are The Peacemakers, for They Will Be Called the Sons of God! Matthew 5:9
Lent Soup Suppers and Programs
This year for the Season of Lent, we will once again be having our Wednesday Soup Suppers to be followed by a time of worship and a teaching program. Lent is a time in the Christian calendar where we have the opportunity to prepare our hearts and lives for Easter and the joy of the resurrection! This year, beginning on February 22, Ash Wednesday, beginning at 5:45, we will be having a weekly simple meal of soup and bread together. At about 6:30 we will gather for our program. On February 22, we will have a Service of Ashes where we begin the Lent season. The following Wednesdays through March 29, we will participate in the series, "Becoming a Contagious Christian". This series will help us to find ways to share our faith within the gifts that we have been given. There are books that go with the study available for purchase at the church for $10. All are invited to come and participate in these times and grow in a deeper relationship with God.
We also have Lent devotionals, scripture readings and prayer guides as resources during this time. The devotionals are available at the church and the scripture reading plan and prayer guides are available here. Please take advantage of these resources and this time leading up to Easter.

RENEW Sunday Evening Service

RENEW is a different style to our morning worship experience through a simpler style and acoustic based praise and worship music. We will have communion each Sunday as well as incorporating different times of prayer and interaction with each other. You are invited to come and check out this service and take advantage of another opportunity to experience God and God's working in your life. Click here for more information.
We are preparing to enter the season of Lent and will be looking at how the stories of Jesus and told by Jesus are to shape our lives today. The specific stories will be shown on the window to the right.
